Doing what you need to do when you need to it.

Do you feel that you just don’t seem to get to do what you want to do? Do you feel like you have no time for yourself?

Too often people lose it and react to situations that ultimately have been brewing for sometime. They explode blaming others for the situation they are in and doing something stupid, self sabotaging or unfair and not taking responsibility. How do you get into this situation in the first place?

Depending on which website you read and believe you will find that only 3% of people (American study) write goals, only 1% review them daily and around 8% achieve them. That’s a lot of people ‘wandering through life’ and flip flopping through their careers, relationships, health, finance and any other category you choose. Having said that, you will probably find that most people are very good at something, a hobby, sport, gardening, particular part of their job. When you drill into how they have become good at that thing you will find they have given it focus over other things. They usually like doing it, it provides an outlet or it has given them rewards such as significance, certainty, financial return or a rush in the moment, a distraction from what else is going on.

It is the moments in life where it feels uncomfortable, it feels awkward, a little scary, but still a little exciting that things happen. You are at the moment of shifting to the next level or learning that it takes to get to the next level, or in most cases learning that I don’t really want this and deciding to do something else or not having a big enough motivator, goal, to push you through.

The comfort of staying where you are to the tension of where you want to go is throughout all that we do. It having a clear understanding of what you are prepared to do or have to do to move through moments towards your goals. Success leaves evidence of how it came to be and its in the syntax of the steps and once you map yours you can fast track other areas of your life that you want to change. Why do you do what you do? What do you say to yourself, how do you feel and what do you do to respond to the situations are key to unlocking your potential.

Check out my Wheel of Life post and its a great to start. From their you may think about setting some goals to shift the segment out and then you may want to have a quick read of The Hero’s Journey post that could give some insights into where you maybe at and what the next steps are to align you with your goals.

Have a great day and maybe we will talk soon.
